Welcome what? We want you my reaction to the Packers victory over the Cowboys today.
Fire the NFL season What the Cowboys were hosting the Packers Packers emerged victorious, 34 to 24 on while I say overall was a pretty great victory, um, you're also lucky moments for the Packers.
Yeah, the Cowboys caught there on lucky breaks, too.
But throughout the Packersfirst four victories this season, there have been a lot of those lucky breaks.
But then again, we've been able to capitalize upon, I think, for them this week.
It was really It was, uh, you know, it was the Mark Cooper sort of drop will say drop.
He tipped the ball.
That which led to the first interception.
Uh, Doc Prescott pret a pretty nice pass on it.
And honestly, Cooper probably could have taken that to the house and closes in the bad zone.
Uh, and this was their opening drive.
Right? Packers? They had the punt on their opening driving penalties.
Uh, just not a good start for that.
So then the cowboys could have taken advantage.
Could have put pressure.
Uh oh. His thoughts.
The you know, the issue for the Cowboys was going to be if they ever got behind the Packers.
As long as we stay ahead of the Cowboys to come back certain extent, that is Drew, although the back cover's did pass the ball pretty well, so, But regardless, the Cowboys kind of it was important for them to get a lead that way they could establish their ground game the way they really wanna play.
Run through Zeke, uh, vulnerable Packer's defense.
Which kind of hurting for linebackers? Good news on that front.
Injury news on that front, Which there wasn't a lot in this game for the Packers, but or in Burke's played.
He didn't play much until the second half after Goodson left with an injury.
Which, and that was that was a theme today for the Packers.
Um, but overall, they I mean, they contain the run pretty well likes Elliot got 62 yards on 12 carries, a five point you.
That's kind of what you expect from him.
But it was, um it was, and I mean, while they allowed some big residence stockman times.
Um, but overall, it was more about the way that the offense performed early enough to get the game's going where the Cowboys couldn't really rely on the sea.
Only ended up with 12 carries.
Uh, as a team, the only ran the ball 21 times.
The Packers ran more, which again makes sense since they were in the lead so long.
But, uh, yeah, that interception, like Cooper really should have had it.
He had a monster game.
Anyone who had a fantasy would be super happy with him.
I know I on the stream this morning that's talking with Alessandro.
Fantasy Stream and me were I was not so high on him.
I thought that Julia Alexander would be able to shut him down.
He burned Alexander often.
Uh, that was I don't know.
Alexander played off soft coverage a lot more, Uh, almost more at his own butt.
He was giving him the space which respecting Cooper for speed.
But I wonder if he kind of started to press him, Or, uh, that would have I got him off his game.
Uh, So, uh, so you have a guest, even on that plate, Cooper had gained separation from Alexander and you just again.
He almost most volleyed it right to Alexander.
We caught it current balance right off his hands.
And Alexander was right there.
He picked it up, got the interception and returned it.
So, you know, And then then that's set up Aaron Jones first touchdown of the day.
Uh, there is can you explain? And on that, um uh, there was resist a lot of great off.
It's a blind walking throughout the game.
They did a really good job, actually, against the Cowboys, front seven on that specific touchdown, There's a really nice crease created by uh, yes, it was first, uh, that was tournament Blaga.
They created off the right.
Think that was the cutback.
So, uh, you know, at your head and sets.
And so they have some good walking graham there too.
But really, the key block was Turner and Blogger off the right side created a gap and then Jones cut left out of it.
You went right and then was able to cut left in parliament space and scored the touchdown was pretty impressive, right? Actually showed a lot of Jones's explosiveness, but also ability to beat the block because the Packers did run walk really well this game better than that previously.
Certainly better than gets the Eagles game, But even against the Broncos and ah, Vikings, a lot of it was Miss Jones creating it on his own.
I know one thing that happened a lot against the Vikings was his own block.
Jones would take the backside of it, so in his own left, he would run off the right tackle blogger on his own towards the right run off, uh, off Bob Kerrey.
I didn't really do that.
He allowed the offensive line to kind of create holes through the middle on, and that's really healthy again.
The problem with him in the Broncos game, why he got so few carries.
He kept trying to balance everything to be outside.
And he did that this a couple times in this game, and for the most part, it worked.
There was one later in the game, uh, which wasn't the worst decision because of what they were trying to accomplish more so than anything else I'll get to that later.
But for the most part, Jones was taking his, uh runs north south and Thio maybe some surprise, although anyone knowing the situation, it's not that surprising.
But Dexter Williams was kept in active and they actually went with trade Carson right off the practice squad, into the lineup.
You got some carries of receptions.
Dan Vitale only had the one catch.
I think he wasn't.
I mean, he ran some routes a lot.
It's funny, the fullback vitality a pretty sure he ran more routes that he I did spend time as a lead blocker on run plays.
They barely ran out of the fullback formation.
Actually, they found a lot of success runny nose to 10 and set, which that's something.
That's what they did against the Bears.
That that was the only thing that was working for that was too tight and said, But they ran a lot out of the spread.
The three wide receiver said, Uh, Jones seems comfortable running out of that without without really blocker.
A lot of his good runs were on that tape of set.
I think the second touchdown waas Uh, there's another you know to to wide receiver set and they brought Graham in motion, so trying to really spread things out on the defense, and they had album Jenkins and Cory Lindley, who was still in the game at this point.
They, uh, they had a good block.
Uh, the double team, the nose tackle.
And then Jenkins got off that and blocked, I think, with Anne Drescher is one of the linebackers, and it allowed Jones Thio cut through and get a second touchdown of the game.
Jenkins really impressed me, and he's This is what's this is his third career start, and, uh, run.
Walking is great if you could help penalties in the game because the all the Packers penalties were all on their good players.
You know, the guys who were not cleaning the roster spots for the guys that have a lot of food.
See, if you were conscious of that and, uh, other than Jenkins right there, working in the third round pick coming in, But he played amazing.
Two families aside like that, that's it.
Won the game. So it's not gonna be as much of an issue.
Obviously, they're gonna try and fix those things.
Uh, just a couple holes, right? This you're gonna live with those. They're gonna happen.
This people don't.
Just holding on every play.
It's just the two of us.
The ones that wraps can see.
Um, not so joking.
That is, Uh, Anyway, uh, there was actually one thing that really impressed me.
Go Jenkins on a couple plays, One in particular Where, uh, they through a deep pass.
And that was one of the ones that were there.
Pass interference called, I think was on Alison.
But anyway, on that particular play, they actually had Jenkins pull out on pass protection, which you often see players pulling on screen passes, maybe, or or run plays and outside zone runs.
But they had implode in pass protection and pick up a guy coming in off the edge on the right side.
And, you know, he took him one on one, and he was able to give Rogers time so that that was first off showed incredible smarts and smart designed by that on the plate design.
But, you know, for him to get out there, the athletic enough to go from the left guard toe, you be on blogging, tackles right side, get out further and give extra outside protection.
They're you know, really? What? Read that well, that blitz come in when it was Roger's or was.
I think that point the center would have been Lukas Patrick, But no way. So Jenkins.
He's looking great, and I do hope Layne Taylor comes back.
His offensive lined up the super.
You need that, regardless, but I think it's it's almost a blessing in disguise.
Not that I want.
I wanted to be heard or what.
They could take positive from it.
But it's given Jenkins the opportunity to shine and show that, Yeah, smart pick in the third round.
Maybe even looking at that is another steal, because I mean boxy.
Ari, I think he was 1/3 or fourth round pick.
They've been able to draft offensive line in this day to day early day three and make it work for a few years now.
And Jenkins might just be the next in line for that.
Um, so then I guess one thing of into that is injuries.
De packers had a lot of injuries today on and should be fair.
They've gotten lucky to get away from this.
For the most part, there was, uh, Raven Green was the only player who's gotten hurt so far this season.
That's Mississippi cannot other than Adam's quest, the turn of the toe.
He's not gonna have too long, but even greens on injured reserve.
But today, uh, early in the first half, uh, first round pick Donald Savage he left with an ankle injury, never returned.
Cory Lindsley left with the concussion.
Uh, I think it was on actually after that that touchdown that he and, uh, he and Jenkins blocks so well, the very next series on the very first play there's a screen pass are no, no screen fast.
They just They ran something the middle.
But then, uh, Lindsley guess suffered a concussion.
And so he was out.
And then Lucas Patrick came in at center and looks patches actually played pretty well.
Er is obviously great decision. Hang on to him.
I mean, and I think I know that that Elton Jenkins, he was a center in college.
And while there was, you know, he had moved all across the line, but it seemed like he was drafted meant to be a center, but, uh, played really well. It left car.
Yeah, left guard.
So that's where he's gonna stay.
Probably even in spite of this, because Lucas Patrick played pretty well.
I think you keep this this line going, as it was tonight if men's Lee meets Mrs any time and he had really hasn't this much time.
So getting Jenkins in and Patrick and that's that's too starting offensive lineman from week one There better shelved right now.
And ah, blogger missed time last week.
He was fine today and he didn't suffer any setbacks.
So that's the one really good news injury to come out of this.
Um, Za'darius Smith left three different times with a leg injury.
He didn't return the third time.
That was at the very end of the game.
Uh, that happened.
And what happening in Denver? I think it happened against Minnis sodas.
Well, we're you know, he was out on the field laying down and they were checking on him and then come back later, Hidden place till it was okay.
So, you know, seeing today even like, okay.
And the first time it happens, Okay, He's hurt.
He and then he came back pretty quickly.
Okay, that's good.
And then, the second time it happened, I was probably gonna come back, and hopefully he's fine.
I'm not as concerned with him just because he's been able to play through a lot, it seems, um, but then, as I mentioned earlier, BJ Greenson left early in the second Earth.
And just I think that was late in the second quarter just before halftime, because I remember they had, uh then they brought over and Burkes have to start the second half.
Um, so and I mean, he didn't play very much, but he at least looked pretty solid.
Doesn't look like he suffered any setbacks.
Ah, but then Preston Smith left with an injury late.
And then same with, um, wasn't Kevin King.
Yeah, Kevin King on the third interception.
So terrible pickoff. Dak Prescott.
And I mean the first.
As I mentioned the first time, Dak made a good throw.
It was that was on Cooper.
Cooper just tipped the ball a pretty good past, maybe slightly behind.
But it is, You know it.
The very words that should have been completely he had tipped it, right, Alexander, That was the lucky play.
Break the packers and eating in this game, and to their credit, they took advantage.
I mean, they just ran it down.
The the Cowboys throat.
I mean, Aaron Jones finished with 19 carries for 107 yards.
Four touchdowns? Um, I don't know.
That would have necessarily would have asked that line. Get four scores.
Uh, and I mean, they passed so much and the red zones eagles seemed like this was giving overreaction to it.
But if it's working, you run right.
Rogers finished without a touchdown pass 20 to 34 238 yards.
Uh, and looking to just the receiving statistics, Aaron Jones not only lead the way on the ground, he was leading target Levitin receptions and receiving yards.
A reception for a running back.
Seven catches, 75 yards.
So a pretty solid game from him.
Disappointment everywhere else, But they didn't need great performances from the other receivers.
Jimmy Graham called being this targets 41 yards double first downs in there too.
Um, Jonah Alison was targeted six times, and now this Scantlin was targeting four times, and they combined for three catches.
So are 46 yards.
So it's not that great.
Robert Tanyon card is really hard, but he is another player that left with an injury.
Um, so yeah, so you know, Savage, uh, and Smith and Kevin King.
That's three starters.
Goodson technically the starting today.
I don't know that now, with Burke's back, Don't know that's gonna be the keys, but guard if it's four players who were starters today.
Actually, that's five starters of the 22 offensive and defensive starters that left this game with injuries and did not return.
And then a 61 with very Smith got injured.
And then Robert Tanyon with the injury to himself as well.
So, uh, health is gonna be a little concerned.
Forbid there's not, by weeks late, which sometimes really helps, but I guess in this case it's not ideal.
But regardless, packers got the wind.
So there's not much to complain about here, uh, just hoping that when gonna be healthy and nothing's major, not just for our sake sa's Packers fans and reporters over around it and people who want to see the Packers succeed.
But for these individual humans don't want people to get hurt.
I hope that nothing that they suffered is too serious for themselves.
And, uh uh, but more to the Cowboys side of things.
Uh, now, trooper, as I said, Cooper was able to gain separation pretty often and 14 targets.
14 targets for Gallop as well.
Cooper caught 11 for 226 yards and a touchdown they mentioned in the broadcast.
That's actually career high for him.
So my call toe not temper expectations of fancy.
Really not great there.
Michael Gallop with pretty great game.
First, Kevin King was kind of really shutting him out and did really well there.
Eso, um, And then gallop ended up later.
A couple of receptions over King in one or two over Alexander.
A couple rows over Josh Jackson after he left with the injury.
Seven receptions, 213 yards and a touchdown.
Those student Pretty great.
Um, now what? What? I was really impressed.
The Packers, with all these injuries, the players who stepped up in their place performed well.
So the first time.
So Darius left, uh, your shot Gary had to committed, and he made a good play.
Um, the tackle on 1/3 down, I believe, er, er was the type of the Force it down or here, stop a big play.
And then, after Savage left will then will.
Redman ended up playing a lot of time at free safety.
He made a lot of plays.
He actually led the team in tackles.
It wasn't like Martinez for once make.
Martinez had four tackles, Will Devon had nine in all solo tackles, tackles for loss.
Like they used him kind of all over the place.
And that was again.
That was what Raven Greens World was kind of expected to be.
So they kind of they played a lot of five defensive backs and six defensive backs.
That's still that's been their staple this year.
They haven't really had that second line back to rely on time and time out on the inside.
I mean, get Goodson's gotten work whenever Thai Summers plays.
It wasn't it wasn't a great um, we'll see.
You made a couple good place, uh, didn't see too much playing time, but he didn't get this first game back.
He's expect to be eased into things.
But the, um you know, some of these, uh, secondary secondary players will say.
Well, Redmond and then also Chandon Sullivan, who got the second interception of Dak Prescott.
And while I would say the 1st 1 was a lucky break on the Packers, that who protected this was, you know, uh, they had chan and sullen underneath.
It was a It was, um, Anyway, whoever it was was a crossing route.
I think it was Cobb.
Williams was covering Cobb, and then they had orders. No.
Martinez picked up someone in coverage.
That's what it was.
They were playing a zone.
Anyway, Bart team has picked up, I think was called, might have gout, but he picked up the receiver and kind of a step behind him.
But they're in coverage, and Doc tried to kind of put it out in front of I think again.
It was called, and then Sullivan was kind of underneath and undercut him.
He made a nice meet to go get it.
He went up there, grab the ball out of the area was a very nice playing lock in the sense that Dax wasn't really aware of Sullivan being there.
But I don't know the necessary thought Sullivan was able to make that type of play.
Still, I mean, another mistake by back, but great on Sullivan toe capitalizing.
And that at that point, the score was still 14.
So, you know, it's a to score game.
You didn't really know what to think you happened.
I believe they got a field goal.
No, they actually, they actually punted.
They had a three and out so good on the Cowboys defense right after that.
But, um uh, yeah, And then the next.
The next drive was the drive that ended in a sack.
It was the first time the Cowboys actually got that down.
You know, the second time? Yeah.
At that point, they had the second they're downplaying.
Both ended in sacks because the other two drives ended interceptions.
After that, the Packers were we got a field goal and that was that was a key drive.
They're actually in the second quarter.
Was really impressed.
Their water of his Jones running.
They only keep the clock going, but they took that drive, took up about six minutes and again they scored early enough.
It took up about again half the second quarter.
They were going to kick the field goal and come away, and it helped pave the way to come away unscathed in the second half and take that 17 even at halftime.
And I mean, obviously the pact with the Cowboys again.
They scored 24 points.
They used to past that 17 to the Packers.
Still need to do something on offense, but it definitely tilted the scales.
And, uh, they're mentioning the broadcast.
The Cowboys have been great in the third quarter, and that's where they really dominated.
The Packers outscored them 14 10 like the offense just kept going into more touchdown drives.
With Jones again, there was another interception by Kevin King.
As I mentioned, you made a nice play, unfortunately hurt on the play.
So, uh, that, uh, yeah issue there, I think, will be, um, you know what? How was his health? Cause he was dealing with the morning dream.
He didn't practice at all this weekend.
There's maybe talk that he wouldn't play, but he added a plane and he looked good until he aggravated the injury stretched out.
I think from the way he fell, there was a bit of a crowd, and falling over people's bodies were things could happen with your muscles and joints.
So, uh, don't hurt on that, buddy.
You made some really great plays.
He was really blanketing, uh, gallop really early in the game.
And, uh, one good news for the Cowboys with passing offense.
The back shoulder throws work working really well with galloping through.
But that was one of the ways they were able to get a lot of first downs.
Have those guys want 15 yards deep in the comebacks, five yards on the back shoulder.
And you know, a lot of times reception for first downs every time or at least good solid gains on Thio Set up second shorts, third in shorts, Whatever it was So uh, really good on that.
That time Thio are on on those occasions, you know, showing hope that Dak he's got it getting that that sense of timing, right? Because the issues with that Prescott have always been He's a too much of, ah, see it or he needs you more anticipatory working there.
And it was really going well with the back shoulder throws he's gained in connection with both Cooper and Gallop.
And that's really important to the Cowboys.
Successful And even though the offense struggled for a lot of this game, you 24 points they scored in the second half of me, technically won the second Packers only scored 17 um, but again, 17 points in each half, that's it's pretty solid.
Production usually score 34 points most weeks, usually gonna win, especially with this defense plain so well, um, but there were some stuff, some mistakes that could.
He could have had some drives in the second half that were extended about some points.
There's a couple drives that were just kind of killed by penalties as well.
They ended up with was nine penalties and they had about three or four more that weren't accepted.
So it was much less disciplined game than much less.
But it was less discipline game that would have been accustomed to, I think, last week killing seven penalties.
So uh, and I mean, like, three of them were almost immediately and from most the first half.
They played pretty clean after that, too.
On that opening drive on offense and then 1/3 on drinking somewhere holes.
Uh, but anyway, I think that might have been the first quarter to, And then I didn't have any penalties.
And then suddenly in the second half, another six and then started on defense as well.
So Darius Smith got a couple of flags roughing the passer and suddenly hits.
And things like that.
Um so good news out someone thing was actually, uh, Josh Jackson started playing some safety as well.
At one point, he was lined up.
It's strong safety.
Uh, so they got him involved.
There was, I guess he's a former second round pick, right? They obviously believe in his talent, and they want to get him out on the field as much as they can.
And with the injury to the injury today, Donald Savage give the perfect opportunity to put it out there.
And then once Kevin King got injured, then he went back to the outside and they'd have Will Redmond play a lot more regularly and Kevin Sullivan? Redman's kind of been that that third safety, but they decided at times to get Jackson in.
They're involved in a safety.
That was another interesting development, too.
I'm really hoping that players here can that are injured, can nothing's too serious and that the package can continue to run their game plan with all their players that they want, because I can definitely get super important.
So but this was a nice to get a total team victory.
Special teams played pretty well, Uh, no big returns, but they covered pretty well.
Didn't really allow any big returns.
The one big return, we did a lot.
I think there was a flag on.
So, um yeah, just a great game overall for the Packers.
Could have been better.
But again, four on one.
Uh, I already got a couple division victories that's looking really great and, uh, really convincing win today and again, it was closer.
They made it close, but that the Packers just kind of it seemed like the better team, not even really is approaching the first half again.
They got lucky, but I think there are lucky on that pick and then they just took advantage.
And really, those those turnover it ended up being the only difference in the first half.
A lot of the yards were pretty close in the amount of first downs, but the Cowboys just kept making mistakes, and the package made mistakes too.
But their mistakes weren't as deadly.
Yeah, you know, a lot of times, just penalty means that forced them to punt, not turnovers.
And I know there was.
There's one player Rogers almost fun, bold, but it kind of threw it forward and live.
I thought it was an incomplete pass.
So, like no and maybe judgments.
Cute Packers fan, but it looked like an incomplete pass, and they called it a fumble, but I was pretty sure it was gonna be turned over to review it. Waas.
But, I mean, that was the only interview Turn over.
The Packers kept a clean sheet.
So, um, great big job on them.
They're Thio because I know there's a couple interceptions last week against the Eagles.
So, um, no fumbles either.
Like this is just a great solid all around team game, complementary football.
That's the type of games that they need to win against a really good opponent.
Both teams were three and one entering this, and I mentioned in my pre games pregame stream yesterday.
Uh, this was gonna be a really important game for playoff.
See, it's not just for wins in your division, which is obviously incredibly important and let the Packers are after is to win the North.
But if it came down to it for wild card, uh, now who's gonna be a wildcard? Who's not? If the Eagles take this east, and, uh, you know, one of the teams, the North surpassed the back because it really could be any before them.
It's gonna be a tough divisional year package.
Need to get everyone they could get being foreign ones.
I know next game and pressures against alliance that they're gonna have to give it their all because the Lions only have one loss as well.
So, um, I know the lines have a tie, which here's the thing that ties.
Sometimes they hurt you, but sometimes they help you.
I remember one year the Bangles and the Panthers both tied.
And, uh, the Panthers that year went 781 and the Falcons were 7 to 9.
I think the scenes were seven and nine, and one of the two of them would have had the tiebreaker against the Panthers.
But because they tied that game against the Bangles, was it They made the playoffs, so really helped him there and I'm pretty sure the Bangles ended up winning the the F C North because of the tie.
Uh, of course, the as the bangles always do they blow it and lose in the first round.
What can you give? Um, not here to criticize the bangles, but, uh, just mourn on the point of, you know, the Lions having that time could help.
So but the Packers need to do is go on, beat him right and go three against the division through three games so far this season.
That would be a great if they could start off that way.
I definitely think that stretch at the end of the year, where they have their final three division games in the last three weeks.
The season that's Ah, that's a stretch that could be incredibly important for playoff seedings, division championships, Um, and frankly, even wild card cause there's a good possibility of there's multiple NFC North teams making the playoffs this year, anyway.
Um, so I know it's Sunday Night Football is happening right now.
I think it's close toe.
Second quarter two started.
