Good morning, everybody.
I I was I was talking with my I gotta I gotta work on this.
I was talking with my mu committed.
Are minded. Muted.
Um, I gotta work on that.
I'm starting to screw that up a little bit more, but good morning and welcome everyone to another episode of fbc Radio Live.
We're off to a little bit of a late start today.
We had, uh I had some things going on.
I know Mike obviously lives and dies for the show.
Um, in fact, when the show is over, he actually goes into a 23 hour hibernation.
It doesn't wake up until we are ready to do the show the next day.
Or in the case of the weekend, DP sleeps for 48 hours.
So it's it's it's hard to match that type of commitment.
So, needless to say, I'm going to bring him in because, well, hey, he makes the show go, and he certainly makes up for my buffoonery.
Mike, how you doing today, buddy? Look, I'm doing well, my friend. Friend.
You know, Thursday coming along Christmas is 22 days away, and, uh you know, really, I think you know, everybody's in the holiday spirit now. It's it's good stuff.
And, uh, you know, we're fresh off of Wednesday afternoon football.
You know, its's pretty good times right now. So I'm good stuff.
Yeah, Yeah, I'm my day, my week.
My just my general sense of time has been completely thrown off because of this, Because again, I mean, who gets Wednesday afternoon football? But we did way talked like Look, I'll be the first to admit I watched some of it.
I wasn't, you know, I didn't have my undivided attention.
Let's just put it that way.
Um, but, hey, the Steelers are 11 to know.
Um, if anything, uh, they're keeping the chiefs, I guess out of that top overall seed.
So you know they're gonna make it a little bit more difficult for them.
But, um, you know, I e don't want to sit here and and be two negative about the Steelers, but here it iss, but their schedule is not quite the toughest.
And again, we're not sitting here and saying, Oh, you know, it's it's ah, you know, they're bad team.
No, they're a good team. They're 11.
And no, you don't go 11 and oh, by accident.
I don't care if you Well, I mean, if you play the Jets 11 times in the season, yes, you would go 11.
And so I'm not going to sit there and completely say it's not an accident, But, uh, you go 11 and oh, you're a pretty good team.
They do have issues.
I mean, there's no doubt about it.
I think if anyone puts them up against, you know, a team like the Chiefs, uh, in the A F.
C or some of these big time NFC teams, if they do happen to make it to the Super Bowl, I don't think anyone's realistically going to sit there and say, Wow, the Steelers are just head and shoulders above them.
I don't believe that's the case.
I mean, I don't know.
I mean, it's like, here's the thing.
It's like Ben Roethlisberger is playing okay.
I mean, he's pretty good, certainly better than what they had last year, and he's obviously made a huge difference in that.
But you know, he's not a guy like he's never been.
He's never been the type of quarterback.
I think you feared consistently, And that's not to say that he hasn't had the ability to obviously sling the ball and make huge plays.
I mean, way saw it in the Super Bowl.
Uh, you know, against Arizona back in 2000 and nine or 2000 and eight, rather where, you know, Obviously, he was more than capable of doing that, but for the most part, he's not that type of guy.
He's not in that.
That Brady, um, he's not in that Brady realm, I guess in other quarterbacks, like Tom Eso again, I'm not.
You know, when I look at the Steelers team, I just I'm not convinced that there a team much better than some of the other playoff teams.
I think they're just another team that just might happen to get the number one overall seed.
In a lot of ways, I kind of agree with you.
I think that look, you know Pittsburgh is proving at this point that they're capable of winning games.
They're capable of winning any game that they're in and so far they've won every game that they're in.
But a lot of those winds have come at the expense of teams that have been, How shall we say compromised, especially yesterday.
So, you know, you look at flaws.
I'm not knocking Pittsburgh for being 11 and oh at all.
Like I said yesterday, just getting to that level is something that is an accomplishment in and of itself.
It's not easy to Dio, and at the same time you can Onley play what's on your schedule.
I never believed in penalizing a team or a franchise for playing what's on their schedule, but at the same time you also have to look at it and say, Well, okay, you know what? The games that they have left Are they capable of running the table? Is this truly the best team in the NFL? I look at it right now and I'm sorry to say it, and I know it's probably gonna angry you a little bit.
But Kansas City Chiefs, I think, would not have a problem dispatching the Pittsburgh Steelers right now in a playoff matchup.
I think that the matchup for them is just a bad matchup on all ends.
I think Kansas City is definitely capable on defense of making stops of the Pittsburgh offense.
And even though I'm a big, big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers defense, I think Patrick Mahomes and those ****nal of weapons that he has around him is capable of putting a point.
So their teams right now that I look at and say yes, Pittsburgh is 11, and so technically, they're the top of the mountain right now in the NFL when it comes to records.
But I also look at teams around them and say There's a handful of teams right now that I say in a one on one head to head matchup would not have a problem dispatching Pittsburgh.
So it's gonna be interesting to see what happens In order to have that perfection, you've got to finish it off.
We know that as well as anybody, my friend.
We definitely know the difference between 19 and Oh, and 18 and one.
That is a big, big difference, and we'll see.
We'll see what Pittsburgh's made up down the stretch.
Yesterday I said this was gonna be a statement game for Pittsburgh.
I'm sorry to say it's the always fans.
I don't think they made that statement.
They got the win, but I don't think they made that statement.
I don't know about that.
Maybe they did make a statement.
I mean, I mean, it's statement.
Games don't always have to be positive, you know what I mean? Well, that's that's a good point.
And I wasn't thinking in that direction.
I'm thinking this is Pittsburgh's opportunity to stake their claim.
Put the you know, the flag where it belongs and say where The best team in the NFL.
We have the best record.
Bring us your Chiefs, bring us your you know, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Whoever it happens to be, bring them on because we're ready and we could take on anybody.
That's the statement I was looking for from Pittsburgh yesterday and I don't think they made it.
Yeah, well, I mean, that's the thing.
It's its's about.
Look, I agree with you.
I think if they go up against the Chiefs, I don't think it's a match up and it's, you know, it's not so much, you know me saying Oh my God, this Chiefs team No, I still think that this Chiefs team is it's fairly beatable.
I mean, it z, it can be done, it could be had, I mean again, It's it's about, you know, it's about playing smart when you play against the Chiefs.
It's just kind of what it is.
Um, I I do see the Steelers is a is a pretty good team and certainly one that could use that first week off.
But, you know, in a in a normal season where maybe they would have that legit home field advantage, I'd give him more of a shot.
But I two times feel that I'm not too, you know, that's what That's why I don't look at this as a za normal home field away advantage, uh, this season because, like, yeah, I mean, the prospect of going to Arrowhead obviously has an added element because of how you know again, how loud it gets there and how it just how crazy it gets in that in that Reno altogether.
And they don't have that this year.
You have some fans, but it's really not a big deal.
Um, so I don't see that as a huge advantage for the Steelers.
Obviously not having to play Ah fourth game would would obviously be, uh, to get to the Super Bowl would be a, you know, a great advantage for the Steelers, but other than that, I just don't see it.
And I don't think they're good enough thio to compete, especially especially now that it looks like blood to pre.
Um, last I saw, the prognosis, uh, was negative on his on his injury, and I didn't mean to make a joke about the injury is more or less my, uh, you know, my my undying need to always make a Seinfeld reference.
But, you know, it looks like he's gonna be done for the rest of the year, and he's obviously one of their best defensive players.
So, um, yeah, I just I don't know. We'll see.
You know, we've seen teams surprised us before, so I'm not gonna write off the Steelers.
Um, so I don't know.
We'll say we'll see how it goes.
I mean, I wanna do you have there? Do you have to have their schedule in front of you? I should have brought it up, but I want to see, Let's see.
Let's let's do a little quick Google search here because I want to kind of take a look at you know, I actually, I do have it involves e didn't know if you had, uh, coming up on December 7th.
They take on the Washington football team.
Yeah, there you go.
That that probably you can probably safely say that's gonna be a win.
Although, you know, Washington's playing better lately.
I have a lot of faith in Alex Smith.
Who knows? You know, stranger things have happened.
The Buffalo Bills on December 13th.
That's quick turnaround for them.
I'm looking at that game right now and saying that could be the one If there's a team that right now could take out the Pittsburgh Steelers, Uh, that's a possibility without any question, I looked at the Bills.
Is being a formidable opponent.
The Bengals with Joe Burrow.
That might have been a contest without.
I don't think it will be the coals.
You know, that culture kind of Jekyll and Hyde.
You know, we think they're gonna show up.
We think they're on the cusp of, you know, showing that they're one of the better teams in the league.
On both sides of the ball, Philip Rivers gets hot.
That could be an interesting game.
That one has a shot and then closing the season on January 3rd, 2021 against the Cleveland Browns that could be imagined.
The fan base of the Cleveland Browns.
How stark raving they're going to be if they're the team and this is in Cleveland now, I know, you know, obviously, you know, restrictions and stuff like that.
Home field isn't what it used to be, but still, I can imagine the fan base being absolutely stark raving and really just craving the Cleveland Browns being the one to ruin their perfect season.
So three games, I would say on the the docket right now for the Steelers.
That could end up being, uh, difficult weeds for them.
Which is the Bills, the cults and the Browns, with the Bengals and the football team probably being mawr comfortable.
But you know, you never take things lightly, especially as you get into the second half of the season and I don't care what team you are.
That chatter starts to get to you.
You know, I've talked to several players of the Patriots that you know that that that that have played on that 17 and you know quietly they'll be like Oh, yeah, You know what? It was We knew about it.
We we thought about it.
You know, we didn't say we thought about it.
We didn't say we knew about it, but we were definitely keeping our tabs and keeping our eye on that.
It's a lot of pressure, and at the same time, you have to wonder whether or not the team is gonna be able to hold up, so ah, lot can happen.
Like I said, those Washington Bengals games that are coming up to could be classic traps.
So steel is gonna show up ready for those Because, you know, the teams on the other end, they're gonna be loving to get their opportunity to be the one that ruined their their perfect party. Yeah.
Look, I'll say this, too.
I mean, compared to what it was in 2007.
I feel like no one's really talking about this, because again, look, I mean, the impressive wins over Tennessee and Baltimore, obviously Baltimore twice? Sure.
Um, Baltimore maybe isn't three team, I think we kind of thought they were.
And, of course, obviously yesterday having you know, to deal with Kovar.
So I don't think it's getting as much publicity and look, no one's gonna I mean, if they if they go 16 or no, in the regular season, it's gonna be impressive, Sure, but I don't think anyone sitting here saying like you know, this was a This was a run through I mean, look, when the Patriots went 16 and oh, you were talking about the pursuit of for person pursuit Week 10, Week 11 and it was just nonstop.
From then on out, they moved the final game two to prime time.
They you know what I mean? But on top of all that, we mentioned this yesterday, the schedule was just far harder farm or difficult.
I mean, the Patriots had a gauntlet of a schedule, Um, in 2007, which made what they did, even more impressive and how much they dominated This'll league.
So s Oh, yeah, it's It's an interesting thing.
Let's put it that way.
Because, of course, if you're a Patriots fan on whether you say it or not, whether you're, uh, you know, not as bias as one or the other.
But, yeah, you don't want to see other teams do what the Patriots could or in this case, maybe couldn't do if they ended up.
Say, going 19, you know.
But at the same time, it's like, Yeah, you know, it's not out of the realm of possibility.
It's like it's like, uh OK, so the Dolphins are obviously the quote, unquote only perfect team. It's funny.
It's funny how people use playoff mhm playoff information playoff stats when it comes to that. But hey, whatever.
And that's that's just may, uh, they're the only quote unquote perfect team.
The Patriots had a better start.
They want they want 18 or oh, that Dolphins only had to win 17 games, including the playoffs that year.
That's not a knock on the Dolphins.
It's just the nature of what the game was in what the knock on the Dolphins is the the weakness of their schedule.
Um, and and in this case, I think that the Steelers, I don't know exactly what they're You know what? They're winning percentages or what the strength of schedule is.
But I count one to uh oh, I almost counted Tennessee twice, but that game was postponed.
1233 teams with a winning record.
Baltimore, Uh, that they've played so far, obviously.
Buffalo being the being the big one here in a couple of weeks, and we'll see how that goes.
And it might be kind of weird to to be quietly rooting for the Buffalo Bills in that game, But that might be the case, to be honest with you.
Well, I think in a lot of ways Ah, lot of Patriots fans.
Now, don't forget, if the Pats can somehow rattle off a couple of victories here and Buffalo sputters and I'm not saying that's going to happen, that's highly unlikely.
But just in case that happens, all of a sudden you might be looking at an A F C East race.
And then you really have to say, You know what? All things aside, you really need Thio Start rooting, you know, pretty heavily and pretty hard for the Pittsburgh Steelers toe win that game yesterday.
I think it was a bitter pill for a lot of Patriots fans to swallow that they wanted the Steelers toe win that game.
It's better for the Patriots playoff chances right now for the for the Baltimore Ravens toe lose and bring them back down to the pack a little bit, then have the Pittsburgh Steelers lose, and simply to protect a perfect record at this point.
So you know, you pick your poison.
When it comes to this, we'll see what happens.
But to me, I think this is going to get very interesting.
On the 13th of December, when the Buffalo Bills host the Pittsburgh Steelers, a lot of eyes were gonna be on that game, and I think that could end up being one of the more intriguing games of the season.
May be the most intriguing game of the season that we've seen so far.
I think I got something.
Do you remember their 13 day of December? See, it's a little remix, man, and I think we owe 12.
I was doing it in my head to make sure that it kept Maybe, maybe, maybe Earth went.
Maybe Earth wind.
Moreland can come in the way.
You know what is what is what is Earth wind doing these days? We're gonna find that out. That's the next day.
FP CFTC is gonna do investigative reporting on what Earth Wind Moreland is doing right now.
We want to know this. Yeah.
Greatest name in professional.
Yeah, is always one of my favorites.
Um, you know, there might be a few others in there that I mixed into that.
That goat conversation.
You know, that za great phrase that we hear a lot around here, but, um, I, uh actually, you know what this has got me thinking now because I wasn't gonna bring this up.
But I mentioned this to you know, some of the folks that we work with, you know, in our little chats and stuff like that, or I brought it up.
And it's certainly one of the things that I mean this this this year, 2020 has been, um, filled with some oddities, to say the least.
I mean, just strange things, strange situations, learning to adapt all that stuff.
Um, one of the one of the strangest things I've ever heard.
And this is this is fairly consistent among a segment of fans, and I'm paraphrasing, but for the most part, I'm getting the gist of it.
This is what I've been told on on a more than one occasion.
Let's put it that way.
He threw 30 interceptions, but 16 weren't his fault.
I'm not I'm not a loss for words.
I just want you Thio.
Think about that for a second.
He threw 30 interceptions and 16 16 of his interceptions collectively are able to drive a vehicle were not his fault.
Look, folks, I can't believe I'm I'm having to do this.
And this isn't just my devout, uh, mentality.
You know, my my devotion to Tom Brady.
I'm no, like there is.
I'm always gonna defend the guy.
Just it is what it is.
Um, but there is a large and I say large because anything more than one in this case is large because this whole idea is just is bonkers.
ITT's ****** brains.
Let's put it that way.
Uh, people out there actually think that Jameis Winston would be Jameis Winston, the guy who's sitting right now behind Taysom Hill.
Uh, in in, uh, New Orleans would be a better option, Tom Brady.
And if you think that's a ridiculous statement, then you are correct.
I mean, it is, um, you know, I talked about committing you earlier, and, hey, that may come to pass and, you know, a few years in the future.
There's folks out there that need to be committed now if they believe that because I don't I mean, again.
I don't know how to, uh just how do you come to that thought process? Because not on Lee, not on Lee.
And And And this is not hyperbole.
This is not me exaggerating.
Tom Brady is better individually, statistically across the board in every aspect of this game.
Then Jamis Winston was a year ago, except passing yards.
In which case he will, uh, he's on pace to finish with, like, 400 fewer, which all things considered.
I think you'll take 400 fewer passing yards for again.
Everything else that goes along with it, Um and so on top of that and I had my little handy dandy sheet right here because I had I had to write this down so I could actually see the dominance, Um, for my for my very I in front of my very eyes in 2020 versus 2019, the Buccaneers, they score at a higher percentage, 44.
They clearly turned the pall over at a far lower percentage.
They score more points per drive than they did last year.
They're better and third downs.
They're better and forth down there. Better in the red zones.
There they have and people say, Oh, well, they have a better Russian game.
Well, last year, 95.
1 yards game this year, 96.3.
Not a big difference.
Points per game.
It's not a big deal.
Okay, so where where in this whole idea? Can you sit here and tell me, O.
Mrs Better And it's just it's silly because people believe it.
And I hope some of them are listening now because I really want to continue this conversation with some some of y'all because its's It's maddening, my friend.
Because in no way, I mean, Tom Brady is better than Jamis Winston.
I'm gonna say it again.
Tom Brady is better than James Smithson.
Tom Brady is better than a lot of quarterbacks in this league.
And despite that, the narrative that's out there, uh, he's not a quarterback that's washed.
He's not in the bottom half of the league.
He's not in the bottom two thirds of the league, for that matter, I mean again, you could argue he's a top five quarterback in this league.
I'd put him higher than most people, but again, I don't think you can argue much that he's outside of that top five.
But, hey, some people want Jamis Winston, like Tom Brady is on pace to have a better career a year this year than James has had in any of his five years any of his five years in the league, and people like, Oh, well, James James would have been at least given them a chance.
No, James would not have given them a chance, because guess what? They were out of the playoffs at this point because he threw 30 freaking interceptions.
And don't tell me 16 of them aren't his fault, because again, I'll sit there and turn around and show you a video of him throwing 21 dropped interceptions last year as well.
So yeah, it's just I I started laughing and then I got sad because I I was I was sad that there's people that actually believe this and think this and I lose a lot of faith in humanity.
Mike I'm now, you know, you could make the argument of whether or not there's still a lot of faith to be left in humanity after the year we've had.
But at the same time, you look at arguments that are made, and again people are gonna look.
They're gonna look to the most recent.
They're gonna look to whatever they want to to help make their argument.
For every statistic that's out there that tells you one story, I can show you a statistic that tells you another.
And really, I think that's what.
Well, here's, Here's the Here's the thing, though you can't find a statistic that tells you that agrees with statements Winston being better than Tom Brady in this situation you can't like. You literally can't.
That's the point.
I mean, that's that's how crazy it is You kidnapped.
It's it's true, And I mean, look, I mean, I don't want to turn this into, you know, like, let's dump on Jamie's Type day.
I mean, I think James did, you know, fairly fairly decent job is a quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
I think anybody that thinks that they are better off with James than they are with Tom Brady.
Meeting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is not really doing life.
Not really doing life correctly, I guess, is that that's that's the best way for me to play.
Can I say it? They're they're drinking the sand.
Bright like are you, like, absolutely like, Yeah.
We're gonna have t shirts, burn it up.
Yeah, well, okay, I I obviously I told you this, but I have a album cover in mind for you that I shared with you.
I'm working on it.
I will tell our listeners.
Yeah, Folks, folks, Tomorrow, tomorrow.
The big reveal tomorrow, Whether it's whether it's ah grade school quality photo shopping or professional grade, I will share it with you.
And I do think that I do think people will look at you in a different way and and and realize what I did to myself.
And that is I saw something that I could no longer Nazi.
And I'm hoping that's the case now.
So we'll do that tomorrow.
We'll have a little fun tomorrow on Friday, talking about that so eso Anyways, we'll see.
We'll see what happens with Steelers.
I know what's gonna happen with Tom Brady and the bucks.
I mean, they're better.
Um, he's better than Jamis Winston.
He's better than James Wilson will ever be.
I'm sorry, guys.
This isn't a derangement syndrome.
This isn't some weird off, you know, unjust criticism.
No, The guy was a turnover machine in college.
He was a turnover machine in the NFL, and he doubled that last year with 30 interceptions.
Um, I rooting for him to fail.
But I'm not going to sit here and listen to people trying to tell me that, you know, he'd be a better option for this team.
When again across the board.
The bucks are better.
Um, but yeah, nobody. I know.
I sent you the picture yesterday, but I started.
I officially did kick off my Christmas movie watching season last night with Die Hard.
So game on, my friend game on this'll.
This is good news to me.
Say, this is it.
This is what we should be talking about.
Never mind, You know, perfect season, NFL diehard kicking off the Christmas season.
That's the important stuff.
I mean, you can't get any better than that Yes, I did.
I got I got the picture of you watching diehard last night And, uh, you know, of course, was the famous scene at the beginning where he's in the plane and the guy is telling them how to survive air travel.
And he tells him to make fist with his toes.
It's Yeah, it's it's great stuff, but you know, you need you need a little Hans Gruber in your life at this time and it z always good Thio to be ableto you know, take him out of mothballs.
The late, great Alan Rickman really was phenomenal in this movie.
Still, to me, one of the best movie villains of all time.
Oh, yeah, I mean, well, he's not.
It's not the only time he's played a villain.
So, uh, and he that's true.
And he played it so well, but Gruber was, and I don't know if a lot of people know this, but Gruber was actually his first movie role.
Um, Alan Rickman was a very accomplished stage actor in Britain and in the United States.
He had done Broadway, had done a lot of plays, but he had never acted in front of a camera before he was actually really nurse doing this movie with a big star like Bruce Willis at the time.
And he was he was worried he wasn't gonna be able toe hold up.
But, uh, I think you know, you could make the argument that he really he made the movie exactly what it is.
Well, this was great as well and lead role.
But without that Hans grouper foil on the side of him, injecting humor into being a villain is something that to me I think it's still tried to be duplicated to this day and they just can't do it, you know? I mean, you know, just I mean, I'm going to count to three.
There will not be a four.
Give me the code, you know? I mean, just the way he delivered certain lines was just It was just phenomenal, you know? I mean, I got more.
I got more folks, you know, you know, for you, for the for the younger viewers out there.
Everyone probably more recognizes him as obviously a snap from the Harry Potter series.
But of course, any time I saw him on in those movies, that's all I could take it up with Hans Gruber.
You know E Yeah.
Your ask for miracles. They are.
I give you the f b e.
After after after die artist kind of a free.
Like I said, I'll probably go to Santa Claus next.
That might be that might be a tonight thing, since there is no Thursday Night football, Uh, maybe I'll throw that into the mix.
And then after that, it's kind of just a you know, it just go nuts.
I mean, whatever I feel like put it on the movie, it's gonna end up being a Christmas movie, because again, that's just you know, that's what I do.
I love Christmas.
What can what can I say, my friend, What can I say? Um, so we mentioned that you know that this might be the longest time we've probably gone without actually like spending a significant amount of time on the Patriots.
It's actually been several days, but, um, since we had, uh, you know John sapa Chetty on the other day, we have to talk talking about Jameis, Winston and Tom Brady and a Steelers and Ravens.
Um, let's talk about those Patriots for a minute because they came out with a pretty big winning, and you already kind of alluded to it yesterday.
The Ravens losing was a big thing for them.
Uh, that dropped the Ravens, the six and five.
The Patriots are five and six and obviously already have the tiebreaker.
So that's it. That's a very significant deal.
Uh, this Patriots team, you know, there is a chance that they could make a run for this and and, you know, make it into the playoffs.
And, you know, I will sit there and and coming off a game in which he threw for under 100 yards, you're gonna sound crazy.
But it's like, Man, I still love Cam Newton.
I think in a very, you know, very raw emotional moment after the game, after the game was one.
We all saw this because it was right on television.
How could you miss it? Him apologizing to Josh McDaniels? And I know I know people are gonna say Okay, you know, he says all the right things.
He does all the right things.
Eventually, you're gonna have to prove Well, guess what he did.
And you know it wasn't the greatest passing game of the world.
No, but at the end of the day, he got that team in position for Nick Folk to deliver and and credit Nick Folk, who's who's been phenomenal this season.
And you know, that was such a big deal earlier in the off season and obviously watching Gostkowski leave.
And Gostkowski had, like one good game earlier this season, everyone's like, Oh my God, look what happened.
Well, Nick, folks been as I mean, it's gotten to the point now where, like I sit back and I go and get a drink during vehicles because I just don't.
It never crosses my mind that he's going to miss it, and that's a great feeling.
That's a great feeling, knowing that you have all the confidence in the world in your field goal kickers.
But when it comes down to a cam, Newton is a huge part of why this team has been successful when they're successful, and I'm not going to sit here and play the what if game and say, Well, if this happened and that happened, they'd be, you know, seven and five versus five and six or whatever.
I mean, they are what they are.
They're six and five or five and six.
They've had some, uh, issues when it comes to consistency and productive nous.
But I want I want Cam Newton here, man.
I want him here next year.
I want to see what this team can do with a full offseason with a healthy team with a more with a better idea of what they have.
Because I do think they have. They have something.
They have a really good young running back.
And Damian Harris, They have, um, you know, a budding star, I guess.
In Jacoby Meyers.
And at least a star and relative to the Patriots.
And and again at the end of day, I love what Cam Newton brings this team.
I love this leadership.
I like his accountability.
I like, And this unlike, unlike some outlets.
No, this is not a shot at Tom Brady.
This is not a veiled shot at Tom Brady.
I'm just saying this is what Cam Newton brings.
It doesn't mean Tom does or doesn't bring that.
You see, we saw what he brought for 20 years.
This is about just Cam Newton and no one else.
And I think he brings a He brings something.
It's hard to quantify to this team, and I think, does his play have to get more consistent? Yes, I'm not going to sit here and say better, because I think that implies that he's played poorly.
No, I think he's He's had his ups and downs, but no, I'm excited for how this season is gonna end.
And I said it about four or five weeks ago.
This is the most one of the most entertaining and interesting Patriots seasons we've seen in a very long time, Um and and that, you know, even brings into account some of the Super Bowl seasons because it's just a different, a different dynamic this year.
Yeah, I think you hit the nail right on the head, I think.
Look, bottom line with can and I still laugh and not laugh.
But sometimes, like just, you know, raise my eyebrow and caught my head and say Thio some of the fans that want him jettison from this team and you know they want to give Javits did him the chance and get and get him in there and didn't do this.
And look, I was on Instead of stump for a good portion of the off season, I thought he was gonna be your starter, and I think he would have been serviceable.
You know, I thought he could have maybe led the Patriots to a respectable record when they got Cam Newton in the fold.
To me, it wasn't even a question, and it's the weather.
Can was gonna be the starter.
He was coming here to be the starter.
He wasn't coming here to back up.
He wasn't coming here to play a peripheral role.
He was coming here to lead this team and lead them.
You talked to guys in the locker room, Anybody that has experience talking to these guys in the locker room.
When you see them on zoom calls after the game or whether you've had any type of private interaction, they will tell you can is one of the first guys in there the last guys to leave.
He's well liked.
The coaching staff responds to him.
The fan base has responded to him.
Like you said with the media and that it can.
I'm glad you brought that up.
That's not to say that Tom wasn't accountable for his Miss Falls.
I defy anybody that spews a crap out there that say, Tom Cruise, guys under the bus.
I don't ever recall a moment.
We're through a teammate or a coach or anybody under the bus.
That guy always like.
I can't say that for many other.
Well, well, that's fine.
That's fine. That's fine.
I'm all for that. That's different.
Well, you you could make the argument that he should have rubbed his nose and a little bit of dog due to their.
But in any case, um, Brady was not a guy that that shied away from accountability.
And I cannot say that about many other of the elite quarterbacks he's he's compared to.
Most of them have done that several times.
Brady not one of those guys, but I digress, getting back to camp because I know where we're up against it.
Cam's biggest problem right now is his reading of the field, and I don't know if it's just unfamiliarity with his, uh, with the surroundings.
I don't know if it's maybe Josh McDaniels trying to get too cute with play calling a time shying away from the play action, which is where Cam is at his best camp, seems to be fixating down the field, on targets and on plays that he doesn't end up making.
When you do that, you open yourself up the holding the ball too long, scrambling around, if you can.
By that time, the linebacker corps the front seven and even the safeties can come up and help out draw beat on the quarterback.
That's why he's being sacked.
That's why he's having difficulty if he is able to shore that up.
And I think if Josh maybe amends the playbook a little bit to utilize play action a little bit, Mawr get him utilizing the running game to open up the passing game.
That could be corrected.
But ultimately, I think Cam is the guy for this team.
I think he is this year and I really would love to see what he could do next year with a full training camp, maybe with a couple of Mawr weapons in his ****nal.
I say that with a Z folks for all the weapons crowd, but if you're trying to sleep on Cam Newton or or you know or write his epitaph.
Don't do that just yet.
There's still enough there that I've seen this year that leads me to believe this guy can do the job that you need him to do for a least the next couple of seasons.
So yesterday and before we get off there because you are right, we are up against it.
We only have about, you know, 120 seconds or so left.
Um, yesterday, it was rather chilly down here in Florida.
I'm gonna tell a story of a situation that happened yesterday and how excited I was that I was able to explain this in great detail.
It was 40 degrees yesterday in Florida.
That's pretty cold, my friend.
Even even up north, that's a little chilly.
It's a little breezy.
Um, I got a call from my mother, worried, panicking, panicking that she got an indicator on her car dash that her tires were low.
One had dropped to 27 PSC, and she said I how how doe? I lose £6 of air and I was like, Oh, contraire, let me explain to you that one.
That's not actual poundage.
That's pounds per square inch.
And let me tell you a little something about the ideal gas law.
So, folks, three ideal gas law Israel.
Um, it was cold.
The tires returned to normal once it warmed up, and that issue was gone.
And it was It was I've never been so excited to explain why air was outside of a tire that I was yesterday.
And, you know, she she learned a thing or two.
So I I just want to say, uh, ideal gas law. Israel.
It's not fake news, folks.
Thank you very much.
Tomorrow Friday means we're going Thio give our picks for for the weekend, and we're gonna break down all the action, even though we 12 just ended yesterday.
Uh, week 13 begins in just a few days.
So have a great night.
We'll see you tomorrow.
We're gonna have some fun and keep an eye out for mix album cover.
It's gonna be great.
